Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS)

Important Information Before Taking the ADHD Self-Assessment Questionnaire

Before you begin the following self-assessment questionnaire, we would like you to have a basic understanding of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is a common neurodevelopment disorder that affects millions of children and adults worldwide. Its main characteristics include:

  1. Difficulty Maintaining Attention – Struggling to stay focused on tasks, easily distracted in school, work, or daily activities.

  2. Impulsivity – Acting without thinking, interrupting conversations, struggling to wait, or making impulsive decisions.

  3. Hyperactivity or Restlessness – Feeling the need to move constantly, fidgeting, tapping, or frequently switching tasks.

  4. Difficulty with Organization and Time Management – Forgetting important tasks, struggling to plan or complete work on time, and getting lost in details.

  5. Emotional Regulation Challenges – Experiencing mood swings, frequent frustration, anxiety, or difficulty maintaining emotional stability.

  6. Low Patience Levels – Finding it hard to wait or focus on tasks that require sustained attention.

If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms consistently, seeking professional help is recommended. A mental health expert can provide a proper assessment and personalized strategies to help manage ADHD-related challenges.

Result Interpretation

0 - 9 Points: No Significant ADHD Symptoms
Your score suggests no significant issues with attention, impulsivity, or hyperactivity. Occasional difficulties are normal and should not impact your daily life. If you sometimes struggle with focus, try using concentration techniques like minimizing distractions or creating task lists.

10 - 17 Points: Mild ADHD Symptoms Possible
Your score suggests mild ADHD symptoms. You may experience occasional difficulties with focus, organization, or impulsivity, but they do not significantly impact daily life. Strategies like setting small goals, using reminders, and scheduling breaks may help. If these symptoms begin to interfere with work or school, seeking professional advice may be beneficial.

18 - 24 Points: Moderate ADHD Symptoms Possible
Your score suggests moderate ADHD symptoms that may impact school, work, or social interactions. You may struggle with focus, task completion, or impulse control, which can lead to inefficiency or difficulties in relationships. Discussing strategies with family or colleagues and implementing structured schedules or task breakdowns may help. A consultation with a mental health professional is recommended for further evaluation and personalized support.

25 - 30 Points: High Likelihood of ADHD Symptoms
Your score suggests a high likelihood of ADHD symptoms that may significantly impact daily life, academics, or career. Frequent difficulties with focus, task completion, and impulse control may also affect emotional regulation and relationships. Seeking professional support, such as counseling, behavioral therapy, or medication management, is strongly recommended. ADHD can be effectively managed with the right treatment and coping strategies.
